WATER

We all know that we should drink water, how much per day varies according to whom you ask. This article will not focus on clean drinking water as that article could go on forever!
I find it interesting that so many people hate drinking water. Over the years I think every training client has expressed a myriad of emotions from disdain to disgust at drinking water.
I however; besides a morning cup of bulletproof coffee (you should look this up in unfamiliar) only drink water. I do make long infusions of nettle tea or juice vegetables but my main source of liquid is water, all day everyday. In fact, I wake and drink 20 ounces of water simply to replenish all that I lost through the night while sleeping and through exhalation. I have done this for decades. Sometimes with lemon, sometimes hot water, it doesn't matter how I consume it, just that I consume it first thing.
I find water refreshing and I don't like the effects of dehydration. The headaches, fatigue, the body aches, the nausea. Maybe people don't realize they are thirsty and instead reach for an over the counter drug to treat a headache instead of drinking 2 glasses of water. I'm not suggesting every headache is caused by dehydration (if interested you should check out Water: for health, for healing, for life. you're not sick you're thirsty Book by Fereydoon Batmanghelidj).
There are products out now that are flavored variations of water, mineral water and the like. I would just caution you to read the label and understand what is in the flavoring. There are even flavored soda-type drinks that are sweetened with natural sugars or herbal sweeteners.
Do your homework, there is so much going on with the tiers of an organic label and the use of the word "natural" on packaging that means very little. Be informed, be empowered and make wise choices for yourself.
And if you are coming to me for any form of advice I am sure you are going to hear "drink more water"!
